Rams 'Round the World: Women's Cross Country/Track & Field's Marin Stamer

Sophomore long distance runner Marin Stamer of Suffolk's women's cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field teams has taken her talents overseas for the 2021 spring semester to study at Suffolk's Madrid campus. While stamping her academic passport, Stamer will check in with GoSuffolkRams.com from time-to-time to tell Ram Nation what she has been up to abroad.

Below is the first installment, which features her reason for studying abroad and her first few days in Madrid.

It has been a few weeks since I have arrived in Madrid, and it is incredible! The people are friendly, the food is delicious, and the city is always lively.

Although COVID restrictions have made it so we cannot leave the city, we have found more than enough to do around town, including seeing priceless artwork inside the Prado museum, eating tapas in the Plaza Mayor, and having churros con chocolate right across from the Palacio Real.

My favorite classes, Spanish 360 and Art History 102, allow me to wander the city and visit museums with my professors and classmates every week, while learning about the incredible city of Madrid. We spend so much time out and about, I average 10 miles of walking a day! (Don't worry coach, that doesn't include my running mileage).
