Rams 'Round the World: Volleyball's Chryssabella Jones-Craig Semester Cut Short

Sophomore Chryssabella Jones-Craig has taken her talents overseas for the 2020 spring semester to study at Suffolk's Madrid campus. While stamping her academic passport, Jones-Craig will check in with GoSuffolkRams.com from time-to-time to tell Ram Nation what she has been up to abroad.

Below is the third and final installment, detailing Jones-Craig's semester, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately for me, my semester in Spain was cut short. As short lived as it was, it was one of the best times of my life. I was lucky to travel to the places I did: Rome, Berlin, the Sierra Nevada, Morocco, and all the towns close to Madrid.

Going to the Warner Bros amusement park was a blast; snowboarding in southern Spain was phenomenal. I don’t believe I could ever forget going out to tapas after classes or booking flights in between them.

One of my favorite memories is going to the Prado Museum for my art history class, seeing the same art in person that we see on powerpoints in class, learning firsthand the history of art, culture, and technique.

It is truly a shame I was not able to stay overseas. With that said, I will forever be thankful for the friends I’ve made along the way, especially the ones whom I am still keeping up with as we all face quarantine in our homes. Despite our situations, our adventures won’t end here. A lot of us being rising juniors, we’ll be getting our own apartments and beginning a regular schedule come fall semester. I look forward to reconnecting, visiting each other and reminiscing on the amazing albeit short time we shared abroad. Perhaps we’ll have our own tapas nights!
