Rams 'Round the World: Softball's Brooke Cloak Arrives in Madrid

Junior infielder Brooke Cloak has taken her talents overseas for the 2020 fall semester to study at Suffolk's Madrid campus. While stamping her academic passport, Cloak will check in with GoSuffolkRams.com from time-to-time to tell Ram Nation what she has been up to abroad.

Below is the first installment, which features her reason for studying abroad and her first few days in Madrid.

I always knew that I wanted to study abroad, my junior year of high school I took part in a two-week trip to Italy & Greece with some of my classmates. Although that was more of a spring break vacation without all the classes and school work, from that moment I knew I wanted to travel for school in college.

December of my freshman year at Suffolk University I made a plan with a friend that when we became juniors we would go to Madrid together. Two years later and here we are, finally getting to live out that dream we made in my freshman dorm room.

I have only been in Spain for a few short days, but I have learned so much about the culture and the people here. The atmosphere is amazing and our campus is beautiful.

I honestly can’t believe it’s here already and I'm writing this from my new dorm room in Spain, but I can’t wait to see what this amazing opportunities present themselves here and I can’t wait to see how this journey unfolds!
