Lindsey Keith begins her second year on Ashley Van Vechten’s staff as a graduate assistant in 2020.

Keith’s coaching tenure is just beginning with Suffolk’s stint as her first collegiate gig.

Keith’s first time on a bench as a coach proved to be successful one as Suffolk compiled a 10-6-0 overall record with eight victories coming in shutout fashion, a Rams record. The team, who outscored its foes, 34-21, not only made the GNAC playoffs for the first time since 2017 and eighth time overall, but grabbed the fourth seed and hosting rights with an 8-4 league ledger.  For its success a pair of student-athletes, Caleigh O’Brien and Allison Rodrigues, garnered third-team All-GNAC honors.

The Sutton, Massachusetts product first picked up a whistle in 2015 for Mass Youth Soccer where she focused on team comradery, fundamentals and techniques for two seasons.

From there, she took her coaching talents to the Fortis, where she currently works in addition to her Rams’ responsibilities. With the futbol club, she plans and supervises training sessions for athletes of multiple skill sets and ages, ranging from 6 to 16, while focusing on skills and development.

Keith’s coaching days come on the heels of a standout four-year playing career at Becker. From 2015-18 she erased the Hawks record books and wrote her name atop multiple columns highlighted by total points (173) and goals (74), achieving each feat over 76 games played. The two-time captain, collected one United Soccer Coaches New England All-Region selection with a spot on the third-team in 2017, three All-NECC selections and a NECC All-Tournament Team nod as a senior. For her achievements Becker honored her as the Senior Female Athlete of the Year Award in 2019.

Keith’s athletic excellence transferred to academic accolades as well. The exercise science major earned Google Cloud Academic All-District in 2018 on top of NECC All-Academic Team distinction. The seven-time Dean’s List student and Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Society member graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2019 as Becker’s Exercise Science Academic Program Award recipient and was a LEAP – Leaders of Excellence and Athletic Pride – nominee.

While coaching alongside Van Vechten, Keith is furthering her education at Suffolk in the Mental Health Counseling master’s program.
